Ingredients for 4 persons :

10-12 slices of sandwich bread
20 cl of liquid cream
1 pinch of salt
4 slices of ham
200 g cheese (cheddar, goat, emmental,…) in slices
3 eggs
salt, pepper
Mix the eggs with cream and season with salt,pepper
Place three slices of sandwich bread in a cake tin.
Place slices of ham on top, followed by a layer of thin slices of cheese (in this case Emmental). Pour a little cream-egg mixture on top and repeat the process until all the ingredients are used up.
Finish with a layer of sandwich bread. Pour in the remaining mixture and sprinkle with Gruyère cheese.
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 180°. Take the cake out of the oven and wait a little while before unmoulding it. Serve warm with a salad.
